Ignitia Consulting helps our clients start new things or take what they’re currently doing in a new direction. What this means in practical terms is that we come in to help you at the three critical stages of starting something new: refining your idea, the implementation strategy and launching your idea.

Most of our clients come to us with something they haven’t done before. That could be entering a new market, starting a business for the first time, or launching a new media version of something they’ve been doing for a long time. We view our clients’ “new things” as a whole package made up of the following stages:
Your Idea
One of the first things we like to do for our clients is help them refine their ideas. We sit down with them to listen to how they have defined their problem and their initial thinking on how they’re going to move forward. In most cases, this idea is based on intuition or seeing a similar organization doing something that looks like a good idea.
“Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.” – Steve Jobs
We add value at this stage by exploring this idea comprehensively and by researching the environment in which your idea must thrive to ensure that it will work in your situation. For example, you might assume that no one in your market is filling a gap you have identified. It’s possible that you’ve overlooked someone or that others have tried and failed for very good reasons.
We leverage our own experience, best practice research methodologies and the knowledge of experts to validate your idea, giving you the confidence you need to move forward with your new thing. Primary research is our weapon of choice, allowing us to validate your idea and generate intelligence that will help us implement your idea.
Implementing Your Idea
Once you’re confident that your idea is going to fly, we can work with you to develop a strategy for implementing your new thing. This means getting down to the nuts and bolts of your idea, developing a business case, financial model, go to market strategy, marketing and communications strategy, new media strategies and funding proposals.
We firmly believe that the difference between a successful idea and one that fails is how you approach implementation. Thomas Edison once said “Genius is one percent inspiration, 99 percent perspiration.” Sweating the details is where we bring value to your idea. Most importantly, when we’re developing strategies for implementing your new thing, we validate the strategies as well.
While we’re confident that we’re clever enough to come up with a good plan of attack, we never rely on our own experience alone and always validate our strategies with third parties who have experience implementing complementary ideas. There is no substitute for experience and our team has experience starting new things in private sector, government, non-profits, small business and the education sector.
Launching Your Idea
“I like to tell people that all of our products and business will go through three phases. There’s vision, patience, and execution.” – Steve Ballmer
After you’ve mitigated most of the risk associated with your new thing by validating your idea and worked through the details of how your new thing will work in the real world, it’s time to execute. We help our clients with marketing and communications collateral, new media tools, project management, lean technology solutions and program delivery.
We’ve helped launch new businesses, new revenue streams, new university degrees, new public programs, new brands and new ways of thinking about the world.
Imagine what we could help you launch. |
